　　尊敬的       女士/先生：

　　定于2007年5月18—22日在中国福建省福州市隆重举办第九届海峡两岸经贸交易会，我们诚挚地邀请您共襄盛会。

　　海峡两岸经贸交易会简称“海交会”，又称“5·18”经贸活动，以促进两岸合作与经贸交流为宗旨，是福建省举办的一年一度大型综合性对外经贸活动，也是祖国大陆与台湾有关方面联合举办的最具代表性和影响力的两岸经贸展之一，内容涵盖两岸合作、区域协作、商品交易、项目招商、经贸研讨、文化交流等。由福建省人民政府和中国国际贸易促进委员会等国家有关部委共同主办，海峡两岸经贸交流协会和台湾有关机构协办，福州市人民政府承办。

　　海交会历经八年拓展，“海峡”主题和特色进一步凸显，对外影响力和区域辐射功能逐年增强，在两岸经贸交流的规模、层次、形式、影响、成效等方面不断实现新突破，已成为台湾县市区域展示交流的平台和两岸经贸政策先行先试的窗口。累计接待世界近百个国家和地区的十几万名来宾；累计签约项目三千多项，合同利用外资近百亿美元；累计接待参展客户和观众约百万人次；累计有近千个重点外商投资项目建成投产。

　　今年第九届海交会将秉承“促进两岸合作、加强经贸交流、展示海峡西岸”的办会宗旨，围绕“投资合作、贸易拓展”两大主题，集中展示台湾中部县市、台北县和金马澎地区等台湾县市区域形象以及两岸创意产业、光电、机电等优势产业，精心组织两岸经贸政策发布会、两岸经贸合作先行先试活动、两岸产业合作论坛、台湾地方产品推介和展销以及两岸民间旅游饮食文化交流等系列活动，全力打造两岸经贸文化交流和产业合作的互动平台。第四届中国福建商品交易会、第四届福建商贸行业投资合作洽谈会届时将与海交会同期在福州（金山）展览城展出。

Dear Madam / Sir  :

　　The 9th Cross-strait Fair for Economy and Trade will be hosted in Fuzhou, Fujian, P.R.C. from May 18 to May 22, 2007 and you are cordially invited for the great event.

　　The Cross-strait Fair for Economy and Trade is also called as CFET for short, and 5·18 Economic Trading Activity as well. As an annual comprehensive event on economy and foreign trade in Fujian Province and one of the largest economic and trading exhibitions with most representation and influence co-hosted by Mainland China and Taiwan, it involves cross-strait cooperation, regional collaboration, commodity transaction, project attraction, economic and trading discussion, cultural exchange and so on with the purpose of reinforcing the cross-strait cooperation and economic and trading exchange. It is sponsored by the People’s Government of Fujian Province and the relative ministries as China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), assisted by the Association of Economy and Trade Across Taiwan Strait (AETATS) and the relative Taiwan organizations, and undertaken by Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government.

　　Experienced for eight years, CFET has further highlighted the topic and feature of “cross-strait”, strengthened year by year the external influence and regional radiation, gradually realized new breakthrough of cross-strait economic and trading exchange in scale, level, form, influence and effect, and even become a platform for exhibition and exchange of Taiwan cities, counties and regions as well as a window for head start of the economic and trading policies of the Central Government. It has accepted totally over 100 thousand guests from nearly a hundred countries and regions of the world, and about one million customers and audiences, has signed contacts of over 3 thousand with nearly USD 10 billion of foreign investment in all, with thousands of important foreign-invested projects constructed and put into production.

　　Still insisting the purpose of “reinforcing the cross-strait cooperation, strengthening the economic and trading exchanges and exhibiting the West of the Strait” and giving prominence to the two topics of “investment and cooperation & trade and extension”, to focus on the regional image of Taiwan cities and counties as the middle counties and cities, Taibei County and Jinmen, Mazu and Penghu areas as well as the cross-strait superior industries as the creative industry, photo-electricity, and electromechanical industry etc., CFET of 2007 (the 9th) will organize aboratively a series of activities as cross-strait economic and trading policies release, activities on first trial of the cross-strait economic and trading cooperation, cross-strait industry cooperation forum, Taiwan local products recommendation and exhibition for sale and cross-strait cultural exchange on folk tourism and gourmet etc. to create with all strength an interactive platform for cross-strait economic and trading & cultural exchange and industrial cooperation. 　　Commerce and Trade of Fujian will be held in Fuzhou (Jinshan) Exhibition Center at the same time with CFET.
